NYC-based Street Beat Brass brings a lively NOLA flavor to the diverse range of styles they play. This brass-and-drums band stocked with Broadway regulars has toured internationally for the US State Department and was featured nationally in the NY Daily News.
Chosen by the US State Department, Street Beat Brass officially represented American culture on a recent tour in South America. Award-winning, internationally acclaimed trombonist Jeff Fairbanks leads this strolling band of handpicked veterans of Broadway, Frankie Valli, Count Basie, and Glenn Miller touring bands, with appearances in the NY Daily News and All Nite Soul festival, to name a few. Influenced by the multiculturalism of NYC, they play a wild diversity of brass-based music from New Orleans Jazz to Polka, Mexican Banda, Caribbean, Gospel, Klezmer, and Funk. Its repertoire includes familiar tunes from each tradition's songbook arranged in an urban, energetic vibe. Each hand-picked member is also a conservatory-trained Jazz musician who can improvise creatively off the written tunes, adding their individual voice. When not performing with Street Beat, our members are variously playing in Broadway shows, teaching at the New York Jazz Academy, or performing and recording as freelancers throughout NYC.

Jack Ferguson Trio
The Jack Ferguson Trio features Ian Kenselaar on bass, Rahsaan Pickett on guitar, and Jack Ferguson on tenor saxophone. These three up and coming musicians met through the NJPAC Jazz for Teens program, and have been playing together ever since. They are all currently studying to earn their music degrees and pursue careers in jazz music.
